Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Endometrial Cancer in Clinical Practice

In recent years occurrence of an endometrial cancer in Russia is progressively increasing. Early stages of endometrial cancer are only 15-20% from the total number of patients, which makes treatment of the disease less successful. The aim of the study was determination of the possibilities of MRI with contrast enhancement for diagnostics of endometrial cancer and staging. 70 patients with endometrial cancer have been included in the study. Results of MRI were compared with results of morphopathological examinations (curettage, biopsies). For determination of endometrial carcinoma’s stage TNM and FIGO classifications were used. Results of the study have shown that contrast-enhanced MRI increased accuracy of endometrial cancer detection and staging.
