The First Results of MSCT-Mammography in Complex Evaluation of the Nodular Breast Tumors

The introduction of the MSCT-mammography with contrast enhancement in clinics allows to resolve a diagnostic problem in complex and uncommon cases of malignant tumors of breast. MSCT-mammography overpasses limitations of the conventional X-ray mammography in evaluation of breast with solid glandular tissue, plenty of fibrosis, edema and postoperative breast. This modality allows to precisely evaluate a degree of tumor’s spread. Accumulation of contrast material in the malignant tumors is very helpful in delineation of the small (less 1 cm) nodules. Visualization of the regional lymphatic nodules and their changes and analysis of bones in the field of view allows judging the extent of spreading. One can widely use MSCT-mammography as an additional and qualifying method for diagnostics of the breast diseases. And it might be to use as the main one in the range of the visualization modalities when localization of the breast cancer is rather uncommon. The further elaboration of the CT
semiotics with contrast enhancement would promote to essential expansion of indications for this method in breast diseases.
