Magnetic resonance imaging of brain is used to confirm diagnosis of the multiple sclerosis (MS). In a case of normal brain MRI imaging of a cervical spine can reveal abnormalities to confirm the diagnosis of MS. In 70 patients with definite multiple sclerosis MRI of cervical spinal cord was performed to analyze characteristic features of demyelinating lesions. Findings were abnormal in 80% of patients with MS. Initial MRI manifestations and peculiarities of different variants of MS's courses were determined. Coexistence spondilogenic pathology was analyzed.
