Efficacy of MSCT in Diagnostics of Coronary Arteries Atherosclerosis

To study the efficacy of calcium index and MSCT-angiography for a prediction and identification of coronary arteries stenosis we analyzed the results of complex examination of 205 patients with coronal heart disease or suspicion on it. The diagnostic efficacy of calcium index was evaluated at different threshold apart for arteries and patients. The diagnostic efficacy of MSCT-angiography was defined apart for patients, coronal arteries and their segments. 78.9% of coronal arteries segments more than 1.5 mm in diameter were visualized quite well. Diagnostic accuracy of MSCT-angiography achieved 93.3% when segmented analysis was performed and 94.7%, when analysis between arteries and patients was conducted. Maximal accuracy of calcium index appeared less than that of MSCT-angiography, when arteries (76.2%) and patients (83.0%) were compared.
