The Potentials of Multislice CT in Complex Diagnostics of Postsurgical Complications of Breast Augmentation

Application of a complex of methods of diagnostic imaging allows diagnosing surely the complications occurring after breast augmentation procedures. Due to its high efficacy the MSCT should be included into examination algorithm as an additional method in patients with a high risk and when MRI is contraindicated. MSCT with bolus contrast enhancement showed a high efficacy in differentiating of scarring from cancer recurrences. Including this method into algorithm of examination of patients with revealed on ultrasonography and MRmammography irregular nodular lesions around breast implants can arise the specificity of noninvasive diagnostics of a breast cancer and thereby decrease a rate of excisional biopsies.
