Point shear wave elastography (ARFI elastography) was performed in 100 children aged from 6 months up to 16 years. 1st group included 26 children aged from 6 months up to 5 years, 2nd group – 40 children aged from 5 (including) up to 10 years, and 3rd group – 34 children aged from 10 (including) up to 16 years. Study was performed using Acuson S2000 scanner (Siemens, Germany) with convex (6C1) and lineal (9L4) probes. There were not any significant differences of shear wave speed between right and left lobes. Speed values measured by 6C1 and 9L4 probes did not differ significantly also. Maximal liver stiffness (median of shear wave speed – 1.33 m/sec) was founded at the age from 6 months up to 5 years with its progressive decrease during succeeding period (median of shear wave speed in children aged from 10 (including) up to 16 years old – 1.18 m/sec). Median of shear wave speed in children aged from 5 (including) up to 10 years was 1.29 m/sec. The difference in shear wave speed was significant between 3rd and 1st (P = 0.001), 3rd and 2nd (P = 0.03) groups.
