Hamartoma is rarely symptomatic and usually comes to clinical attention as coin-shaped lesions on a routine plain chest roentgenogram. The association of a lung cancer with chondromatous hamartoma is frequent. We report a case of a 50 year-old man with synchronous chondromatous hamartoma and a mediastinal lung сancer. The plain chest roentgenogram showed a tumor in the right lung. Performing СТ we additionally revealed mediastinal lymphadenopathy. The patient underwent tumor resection through a lateral thoracotomy and biopsy of a mediastinal lymph node. The morphological examination showed a pulmonary hamartoma and a small cell lung cancer (SCLC).
