Diagnostic Imaging of Neurocutaneous Syndromes

The aim of this research is to study the abilities of modern neuroradiology in diagnostics of a dissemination of blastomatous process in CNS at neurocutaneous syndromes, to specify a character and to define a surgical tactic. On the ground of our own experience besides the significant clinical findings, radiological diagnostics of neurocutaneous syndromes is extremely important and necessary for correct and opportune diagnostics, specifying a character and intensity, localization and spread of the disease in each particular patient. Contrast enhancement is extremely important for identifying blastomatous and angiomatous process, differential diagnostics of hamartoma like changes with tumor growth at phacomatosis. Exact and opportune diagnostics must hasten the revelation of this patients and their surgical treatment. Many of the diseases are learned poorly because are infrequent and future and routine neuroradiological modalities undoubtedly will shed the light on etiology and pathogenesis of these diseases and specify their classification. Genetic consulting of families of patients with phacomatosis must assist in a decreasing of a birth rate of individuals with serious, progressive and incurable forms of neurocutaneous syndromes.
