Accessory Mammary Gland and its Lesions

Accessory lobules of a mammary gland can be a source of inflammation, and tumors, having a high risk of malignization. Accessory lobules are ought to be operated. Preoperative fine needle biopsy with cytological investigation of a tissue sample, urgent and systematic histological examination allows exactly defining a volume of a surgical procedure and treatment tactic. We cite two case reports which are interesting because of its rarity and difficulties of clinical differential diagnostics between an accessory lobule of a mammary gland and different breast lesions. Analyzing the case reports we conclude, that a final diagnosis of an accessory mammary gland only can be made on the ground of morphological verification.
