Abilities of Ultrasonography in Definition of Local Spread of a Stomach Cancer

On the basis of the data of a complex examination of 98 patients with a stomach cancer the analysis of abilities of ultrasonography in a specifying diagnostics of the local spread was maid. The data of ultrasonography were compared to operational findings and results of a morphological examination. Ultrasonography was able to visualize a tumor itself and its spread to esophagus (sensitivity – 100%, specificity – 100%, accuracy – 100%). The method appeared insufficiently efficient for a definition of the expansion of the tumor to a duodenum (sensitivity of 37,3%, specificity of 100%, accuracy of 94,4%). Efficacy of the method was lack for a revealing of the regional lymph nodes’ involvement.
