The aim of diagnostic imaging of hepatobiliary systems' diseases is a visualization of a liver and biliary ducts by the most safe and least invasive method, which is also convenient and safe enough for a patient. The requirements in accuracy and an economic efficiency for revealing of focal lesions are rising increasingly. 3D performance of a vascular tree of a liver concerning the revealed lesions demands perfection of methods of visualization. In reply to these demands Primovist was built, which in a combination with MRI promotes a progress in medicine. About 50% of Primovist after bolus injection is eliminated by means of urinary excretion and 50% - through biliary tract. Due to intensive absorption by hepatocytes, Primovist enhances a signal from normal liver parenchyma on Т1-weighted images in 10–20 mines after its injection, and tumors remain dark lesions. Now physicians possess an economically efficient and a simple lowinvasive method of preoperative examination of patients with liver diseases, capable to exchange more expensive and invasive methods such as CT arterial portography and CT angiography. It is very important, that Primovist allows to estimate a state of vascular system of a liver (at initial pass), enabling to answer several diagnostic questions at once performing only one procedure. All diagnostic procedure including routine T1 and T2-weighted scanning and contrast enhancement lasts 20–30 minutes. It certainly reduces a cost of diagnostics and a need for a medical staff, enlarging a handling capacity of a magnetic resonance scanner. A bolus of Primovist can be easily injected by a manual mean, which also speeds up the diagnostics. Except for specified advantages, Primovist yields the economical benefits caused by an exception of a necessity of a biopsy and/or a surgical intervention.
