The purpose is to reveal optic nerve changes in edematous exophthalmus with optic neuropathy using computerized tomography. Material and methods. 62 patients (123 orbits) 43–74 years old were examined. Edematous exophthalmus was diagnosed in 30 patients (59 orbits); subcompensation of the disease was detected in 13 patients (26 orbits); decompensation – in 17 patients (33 orbits). Control group consists from 32 patients (64 orbits) with normal optic nerve. Results and discussion. Data of optic nerve volume in different stages of the optic neuropathy are presented. Density of an optic nerve, its profile in patients with optic neuropathy and in control group is presented. Conclusion. Received volumetric parameters of an optic nerve, its density's changes can be used both for diagnosis of the optic neuropathy in edematous exophthalmus and for differential diagnosis of different stages of the optic neuropathy.
